DUBAI - Number plate G 16 broke all records of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) Distinguished Number Plates Auctions by fetching Dh5 million, boosting the overall proceeds of the 58th auction to Dh32.25 million, according to a Press release.

The auction witnessed the sale of more than 100 numbers plates including three-, four- and five-digit numbers in series D, E, F and G.

There was remarkable bidding in the two-digit category with G 16 going for Dh5 million, E 60 for Dh3.6 million and G 21 for Dh3.4 million.

In the three-digit category, F 141 fetched Dh670,000, followed by G 118 sold for Dh620,000 and F 166 for Dh600,000.

The four-digit plane number F 1001 was sold for Dh350,000, followed by F 5005 for Dh240,000 and F 2002 for Dh230,000. The highest successful bid in the five-digit category was Dh242,000 for G 80008, followed by Dh218,000 for G 11110.
