Damian Lawson, marketing manager for DVLA Personalised Registrations, commented; With one in five registrations purchased as a gift we expect quite a run on Valentine’s-linked registrations. Registration plates featuring Xs and loved ones’ names or initials are extremely popular, plus we still have a good selection of ‘K155’ plates available.”

He added: “There is one plate, ‘1 DO’, which is probably the ultimate wedding registration, but we’ve already sold that one. It went for £10,000 at one of our auctions in 1992.”
