DVLA Personalised Registrations released over 125,000 new A to H Prefix private number plates.
RELEASE DATE - 4th October 2022
A21 JON sold for £2,400 back in 2001, whereas A22 JON and B21 JON could be purchased for a snip , just £1299 in this release (if you're quick)
The new numbers being released are in the range A21 or 22 to H21/22 followed by 3 letters. In 1989 when the A prefix number plates were first made available, only numbers 1-20 were originally released, the same applied when along came the H prefix and the B,C,D,E F & G prefixes were all released in the years that followed. In fact F prefix (1-20 numerics) was the last prefix release to take place in October 2008.
Registrations such as A21 RAB (ARAB), H21 LEN (HELEN) B22 BEN, C21 SSY (CRISSY) are just a few examples of what were in high demand. Many of the long 'sold out' names such as BEN, DAN, and JOE, and also popular initials which are sold out on other Prefix letters were quickly snapped up by eager cherished number dealers and members of the public keen to bag a bargain. With prices starting at £250 there really is some great value number plates to choose from.
Words like DRINKS, (D21 NKS) or DREAM, (D22 EAM) could be made closely and using some imagination we can all find something to F21 OWN upon. With the Prefix range spanning the first 1/3 of the alphabet, it really gives a tremendous scope to be creative making words or names , from ALISON , A21 SON to perhaps HARVEY (H22 VEY) we think this release offers a diverse range of affordable personalised number plates which will appeal to many.
The number 21 also proves to be a common requirement with many customers looking to mark the special occasion of a son or daughter's 21st birthday. Private number plates have become an ideal gift for young drivers of this age, with many Prefix 21 *** registrations proving popular once more. See our Birthday number plates page for other ideas.
