Will you actually buy my registration into stock?
Yes sometimes, but it depends on the letters/numbers. We will provide an outright purchase value if the registration suits our ‘stock’ requirements at the time.
What other costs are involved when buying?
On all transfers, a mandatory £80 DVLA transfer fee applies. On Government stock and company owned private registrations, VAT is also applicable. The complete CarReg Transfer service (£25) and physical acrylic number plates (£22) are optional and can be added at checkout.
How long does it take?
Generally for us to supply the actual perspex plate it will only take a few days. We can supply a V750 certificate (ready for online transfer) in your requested name within 5 working days. If you want us to transfer your new number plate to your vehicle for you, this can generally be done within ten days (or quicker). Times are getting faster as the DVLA increase the number of online applications.
Do you take offers?
Offers are not to be considered on cheaper registrations (priced under £1000), although we do offer Klarna ‘Pay in 3’ on those amongst our cherished results. We have sales from time to time where offers may be considered on our stock.
Is a vanity plate the same as a private or personalised number plate?
There are many different words and labels used to describe what we buy and sell. The term “vanity plate” is used more commonly in the USA, however yes, ultimately they are the same thing. According to Wikipedia, they can also be called Vehicle Registration Plates.

Why are there so many different labels and synonyms for CarReg's?
