What is the difference between private & personalised number plates?
Over the years different synonyms have been used to describe “vehicle registration numbers”, more recently we use “private number plates & personalised number plates”.
Private number plates are generally not personalised to the owner/driver of the vehicle and allow drivers to remain “incognito”. Examples would be OO 77 or X 8 or OOO 123, these plates are normally aesthetically pleasing making the vehicle look extra special. Sometimes the plates can be related to the make or model of the vehicle.
Personalised number plates tend to be more personal to the driver of the vehicle. The user may choose to display a plate containing their name, initials, or nickname they’re known by.
