Finding The Perfect Private Registrations
Private Registrations is just another phrase used to describe what we sell. Perhaps called this because they disguise the age of the vehicles they adorn, not because the driver wishes to remain anonymous or discreet. Sometimes private registrations attract attention and stand out as they are often easy to remember by anyone who spots them, so quite the opposite in fact of being “private”!
The options available are endless. What Private Registration works best for you?
Three things to consider:-
1. Firstly, Your Budget.
2. Which Vehicle will it go on to ?
3. Who are you are buying it for?
Some ideas about how to design the perfect plate think about initials, family names, car models, sports interests such as football, tennis to triathlon or maybe even related to their profession or business. Some even look for pet names or words which relating to something fun, a novelty or gimmick. Please contact us if you need any help or information, our friendly team would be more than happy to help.

Many customers purchase one of the great value ‘Make Your Own’ style number plates, which are affordable to all, not just the minority. These are ideal gifts for many occasions and popular for young drivers with tighter budgets. Some clients get “the bug” and have often decided to buy more as investments. On this page we explain the different synonyms used, which style to choose, incognito plates and investments ending with some common questions and answers.
Do Number Plates go up in Value?
Example A client Brian Bird, who called us wanting to upgrade his “B7 BMB” plate, originally bought from us in the nineties for £399. Choosing “44 BB” at a retail price in the region of £12,000, is he just throwing his money away on vanity? No way! In over 30 years at the pinnacle of the registration industry, we have seen that many (although not all) have been sound investments. Those bought at market value rarely lose money. Brian is almost guaranteed to at least get his money back should he wish to sell “44 BB” later, and can reasonably expect to make a profit if and when he decides to part with this exclusive registration! Often we can part exchange your original plate or sell your old one on a commission basis. Commission sales will achieve a higher value than selling outright or part-exchanging, but will take time to sell. In addition, Brian is able to re-sell “B7 BMB” through us without charge, which has probably trebled in value since he acquired it. He could also choose to retain his original purchase and use on a second vehicle. Brian can actually use his special number plate, rather than the money being sat in in a bank account earning very little or no interest with most UK Banking interest rates being so low in recent years.
