Bid On Ronaldo's Personalised Number Plates

Man United Fans Get Opportunity to Bid on Cristiano Ronaldo Personalised Number Plates

One devoted Manchester United fan will be able to get their hands on a unique pair of Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired personalised number plates at the end of the month – but they’ll need deep pockets! The plates, first issued in 2007 during Ronaldo’s first spell at United, go up for auction on 30th March, and are estimated to fetch between £20,000 and £30,000.

The registration number ‘CR07 RON’ features the first letters of his Christian name and surname along with his iconic number seven shirt number. Beneath the number on the front plate is the legend, ‘MUFC - Theatre of Dreams – “Sir Alex this one's for you” M16 0RA’. The rear plate displays, ‘MUFC - Theatre of Dreams “The last Dance” M16 0RA’, with the last part being the postcode of the legendary Old Trafford stadium.

Ronaldo played for Manchester United from 2003 – 2009, helping the club win three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, League Cup (twice), the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup. He went on to win domestic and international honours with Real Madrid and Juventus, and as captain of Portugal, before his surprise return to Old Trafford on deadline day in August 2021.

Auctioneer Adam Partridge is delighted to have the chance to auction off a “piece of footballing history.” He said, "With Cristiano Ronaldo being such a global ambassador for the sport, the auction is bound to generate interest from all over the world, yet we have the opportunity to sell it just a few miles away from where he spent so many years entertaining fans in Manchester."

Bidding for the one-off personalised number plates will begin at 10am on Wednesday 30th March. You can get more details by emailing [email protected], or calling 01625 431788.

Popularity of Sports-Related Personalised & Private Number Plates

Sir Geoff Hurst put up for sale his historic World Cup win-related plates, ‘GH66 CUP’ and WC66 ENG’ for £5,999. The most expensive football related number plates sold in the UK are ‘WE57 HAM’ (£58,320), ‘AR53 NAL’ (£46,736) and ‘V1 LLA’ (£45,440).
