What flags are allowed on my plates?
The DVLA allows the Union Flag or national identifiers such as “ENG, GB, SCO, WAL or UK”. There is also a Green Flash for fully Electric Vehicles (EV’s).
The GB-European Union flag identifiers are no longer valid after Brexit. If you drive in Europe, you can now have the UK Union flag option plates to avoid having to display a “UK” sticker on your vehicle. Note: Football team emblems/crests, religious symbols and any other countries flags are not permitted on any plates in the United Kingdom. These are not legal.
