Why do I pay VAT on private plates?
Many registrations have VAT added if they’re owned and sold by a cherished number agent or a VAT registered business, while sales of plates owned on behalf of clients (where we are acting solely as the agent) are usually exempt of additional VAT. Every CarReg listing clearly states whether VAT is to be added on, so you always know the total cost before you deciding to buy.
